So, day five of being a new father and I amazed everyday. I have turned into the doting dad — with the baby borjn and blood shoot eyes — I am loving every minute of it.
The biggest thing I have realized is that parenting philosophy is about as useful as a degree in English. It makes for great conversation and witty retorts, but at some point talking is just talking and philosophy turns to practical matters like ”how do I get some sleep?”
So out the window goes the ideals and life is much happier.

I really like to tinker and I really like to cook.
This winter I thought I would combine the two. Being an urban dweller (Brooklyn, NY to be specific) and being very fornute to have a decent sized outdoor space. I have decided to mix our decroative shade garden with with a partial planting edibles.
I going to start planning this garden throughout this winter. My goal is to have mix vegetables, herbs and flowers that thrive in a partial shade environment — that also compliments a long established decorative out door space. A secondary goal is to plant heirloom varieties. A third goal (this is where the tinkering comes in) is to develop a gardening method that takes advantage of rain water harvesting, passive solar heat and composting.
I think the biggest challenge will be to not grow a long beard, start wearing skinny jeans and plaid shirts — I do live in Brooklyn.
I can’t wait to see how this develops and I look forward to learning and sharing many new things.
